International Residency Programs
Sanbao Ceramic International Art Institute welcomes international artists to experience life in Jingdezhen. We provide modern comforts for Resident Artists to explore traditional Chinese methods of ceramic production and creation. Our Residency Programs are unique to any other in the world because resident artists are immersed in a porcelain producing city with over 1000 years of clayart history.
Costs & Fees
Residency Fees start at: 2400RMB per week for double occupancy, Single and Air conditioned rooms are available upon request. Studio, material, and resource personal fees, can be found at: Sanbao Residency
Deposits
A 2000RMB deposit required at acceptance to the program. (approximately $320USD) deposit is will be required to guarantee their place in the program. A PayPal Invoice will be forwarded to the candidate upon acceptance into the residency program. The candidate can elect to pay the deposit via international bank transfer.

The residency program began, in 2007, to accept artists creating in other mediums, such as printmakers, photographers, cinema photographers, and writers.
Best Time for Residencies.
The studio is busiest from March to June, and September to October, when the weather is fair. Summer is hot, but our air-conditioned studios are quite comfortable. Winter is our quiet season which allow us to give greater attention to resident needs.
The studio is open all year except for one month during the Chinese New Year (around the month of February).

The residential studio program includes:
our climate controlled studios hosts up to 10 resident artists at a time
twenty four hour access to our secure Residency Studio
facilities, access to raw materials, electric wheels, work tables, general tools. (personal tools are resident responsibility)
studio technicians are provided to assist the residents by (1) reducing language/cultural barriers, (2) introducing resident artists to Jingdezhen, and (3) aid in resolving technical problems,
climate controlled accommodations and workshops
fresh prepared meals seven days a week, at the Sanbao restaurant. Jingdezhen has numerous Chinese and ethnic restaurants should residents choose to eat in town
Wifi internet access available throughout the residence
laundry services
assistance for transportation services to and from the city is available through the office staff
