Visit Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Art Gallery, Old Shanghai and antique markets (if time permits)

12 Oct.

Private but to Yixing and visit old part of Yixing. Stay at a hotel in Dinshang.

13 Oct.

Teapot making workshop at master's studio with traditional tea service, visit local artists' studios, dinner with local artists.

14 Oct.

Bus trip to Jin County, village of Taoyao, a traditional pottery village that makes human size pots and supports a dragon kiln.

15 Oct.

Visit old traditional rice paper making village and then travel to Taiping, north of the Yellow Mountain.

16 Oct.

Morning visits to the local markets and touring old Ming villages.

17 - 20 Oct.

Bus trip across the Yellow Mountain to Jingdezhen. Stay at a hotel in the city. Jingdezhen, Sanbao, Exhibition, Lectures and Symposium.   Workshops and porcelain factory and studio visits.  Studio and free time for creativity.

21 Oct.

Day trip to Visit ancient Yaoli, and Mt. Gaoling (from which we get the word Kaolin).

22 Oct.

Free day (very important. At this stage of the trip, people like to catch up on things like emails, processing photos, laundry, mail, Bookshops, art material shops, sight seeing ect.

23 Oct.

Bus to Nanchang and flight to Tiayuan, Shanxi province.

24 Oct.

Visit Taiyuan provincial museum and ceramics/sculpture dept of Shanxi University.  Prof. Wang Jiping our host.  Noodle dinner with artists and students.

25 Oct.

Bus to Datong, visit giant buddha caves and sculptures, and temple.

26 Oct.

Bus to 2000 yr old section of Great Wall.  Visit local villages dating back to Sung Dynasty.

27 Oct.

Bus back to Taiyuan, visit black pottery studios and local pottery villages.

28 Oct.

Bus to Pingyao, Ming Dynasty town under UN protection.

29 Oct.

Explore old Pingyao, bus back to Taiyuan.

30 Oct

Flight back to Shanghai, Hotel, Shopping/sightseeing.

31 Oct.
