If you need cash while you are in Shanghai you may go to any Bank of China and use your credit card or ATM card to withdraw funds.  ATM Machines in shanghai are fairly reliable never-the-less, I recommend that you always enter the bank and ask for help to withdraw funds from the ATM.  There is usually a clerk that takes care of foreign visitors.

 

       There is a Commercial and Industrial Band at the corner of HuaiHai Street and ShanXi nan Street  that will take international bankcards with MEASTRO or CIRRUS for withdrawals and also VISA and MASTERCARD withdrawals.  There is also a Bank Of China on HuaiHai Street, west of Xiang Yang Street with the same service.
